Recorded fragments of conversations between agroup of Black men, Variety B is a surreal storytelling journey that welcomes listeners to candidly explore moments of connection and insight that would otherwise be ephemeral. Listen closely, as each episode’s surreal and fragmented arrangement work to mimic theconscious mind and recreate the experience of lived moments of these men.

Variety B is made up of over one hundred recorded hours of organicdialogue, cut to produce nine themed episodes, and blended with music,miscellaneous media clips and sound design. These episodes capture theunfiltered collective ideas of a group of Black men who have shared yearsof friendship for the purpose of genuinely highlighting the intimacy,vulnerability, complexity, and insight that defines their relationship.
